The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced COO to join our leadership team. This role is crucial in driving the success and operational efficiency of the company. The COO will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise productivity, support the management team to continuously improve, and ensure that Fliplet continues to innovate and scale.
The COO reports directly to Ian Broom, co-founder and CEO. You will work closely with him and focus on maximising that the company, product and staff are performing at their best by ensuring the CEO and management team are focused on their highest-value work and supporting them to remove distractions and inefficiencies.
The COO will lead the operations, HR and administration functions including employees, freelancers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Outcomes and Strategy Execution
Drive commercial success by aligning operational initiatives with business objectives.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue growth, profitability, and market share.
- Operational Efficiency
Work closely with CEO to optimise the company and remove inefficiencies.
Lead efforts to streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency across the organisation incorporating processes and technology, including AI.
Strong project management skills to help deliver high-quality results on time and work efficiently with colleagues.
Monitor the businesses data and support the business to report and monitor its performance.
- Strong management skills
Experience leading a team including hiring, training and maintaining a healthy culture.
Organisational design and experience with HR processes.
Experience nurturing and improving culture across the organisation.
You will work closely with our board and ensure they are actively engaged and delivering value.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Facilitate collaboration between departments, breaking down silos and ensuring alignment with company goals.
Enabling effective communication and cooperation, detecting performance issues proactively and taking action to address them.
- Team Leadership and Development
Support the management team, helping them develop their leadership skills and improve their teams' performance.
Promote a high-performance culture where innovation, productivity, and employee engagement are prioritized.
- Technical Insight and Innovation
Leverage your technical background to drive innovation and ensure our products and services remain at the cutting edge of the industry.
Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to align technical efforts with commercial goals.
- Compliance
You will be responsible for ensuring Fliplet and its staff comply with legislation, contracts and industry standards such as ISO 27001.
Requirements
- Experience
Proven experience in a senior operations or cross-departmental role, ideally in an operations role or similar position.
Experience working in a technical industry such as a technology software company or similar.
Creative strategic thinker, able to assess multiple options to common problems and work with colleagues to determine the best solution.
Ideally a degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or mathematics.
Experience using AI to improve efficiency.

Exceptional management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Strong leadership and team development capabilities, with experience in mentoring and supporting management teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Experience working with remote teams globally.

A proactive and results-driven approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
Capable of managing multiple priorities and staying on top of a diverse set of tasks.
Strong ability to work closely with different teams and departments to optimize productivity and drive success.
